A lot of people dread moving houses because it’s such an emotional, stressful experience. Whether you’re moving cities or simply heading to a new place in town, it’s still a tough job. While it can be an ordeal, there are ways you can make it less painful.

A great strategy to combat the stress is to pack non-essential items gradually, and in advance, so that you don’t find yourself packing in a rush the day of your move. Leave packing everyday items closer to moving day. Making a moving day itinerary will help you can keep track of items and where you want them placed in your new home.

Moving is physically exhausting at the best of times. Hauling heavy boxes and furniture in and out of a truck isn’t something you may want to take on any time soon. One of the best ways around this is to hire a moving company to take care of the heavy lifting.

You can see it from the highway as you head downtown: a high quality, 60-unit condo development in the Town of View Royal, only steps away from Thetis Lake Park and trail systems, such as the Galloping Goose. The development is aptly named Thetis Lakeside.

With occupancy currently underway, I thought it might be a good time to drop by and find out what the developer Pacific Coast Land Company [PCLC] and its West Shore builders, Harald Skadberg and Ben Gulbrandsen were up to. It’s not often we see a project of this scale developing in View Royal, is it? I was curious to find out more—and I wasn’t disappointed.

Even though I’m a long-time West Shore resident, it never fails to delight me when I uncover something new and exciting about our community. Such is the case with the Bear Mountain Resort.

As I settled into a conversation with Shannon Drew, Vice President, Corporate Affairs and Community Initiatives and Ruthanne Doyle, Director of Real Estate Sales and Marketing (Ecoasis Developments LLP), I was prepared for a discussion about what makes Bear Mountain Resort such an incredible place to live: namely, the distinctive advantages of its lifestyle and amenities afforded to real estate purchasers and the
community at large.

What was surprising, however, was just how significant and numerous those amenities were!

To start with, Bear Mountain Resort is an urban resort community.

“There may be lots of resort communities in North America,” Doyle explains, “but very few of them are only a 20-minute drive to a major city.”
