#My Belmont Unveils Belmont Residences East with impressive Grand Opening!

Congratulations to #MyBelmont, whose Grand Opening this Friday, September 18, 2020 will be celebrating the next phase of their multi-award-winning Belmont Residences East project in the heart of Langford. The Grand Opening event is being conducted in a COVID-19 safe fashion and includes excellent limited time only incentives.

This newest phase of condominiums started sales during the pandemic, with the first release of homes now completely sold out.

Because Covid-19 has reshaped society in so many ways over the past few months, I was eager to speak with Marcela Corzo, Director of Development for Belmont Residences, to find out what they have been doing to operate smarter and more sustainably during these uncertain times.

Q: Even though your Presentation Centre was closed for a while in 2020, I understand that you were still able to initiate sales for Belmont Residences East during the pandemic. Did COVID-19 affect the demand for a condominium lifestyle like the ones you are offering?

A: “I don’t think it has affected demand, but it has affected the speed of people buying condos. We had clients interested [before the pandemic], and we were able to give them the confidence to follow through with those purchases. Mindful of the virus, though, we moved to virtual events and got quite an active engagement with the community. We discovered ways to interact with interested condo buyers that resulted, over time, in attracting pockets of sales. Just last couple of weeks , for example, we sold 12 units. In total, we have managed to sell the first release During these challenging times.”

Q: Covid-19 has certainly actually been a catalyst for change for a lot of businesses. What innovations has the coronavirus unleashed for Belmont Residences?   

A: “Well, we were always moving in a progressive direction, but the pandemic certainly encouraged us to move along faster!”
For example, physical activity and biking have always been embedded as one of #MyBelmont’s core values. It was always a healthy, innovative idea. Now, because of COVID, the importance of e-bikes has moved that idea to a whole new level. Many new home buyers are really grateful for the two e-bikes they acquire with their home purchase—or they can opt for a free air conditioning unit. Many realize the advantages of having an e-bike because of the abundance of neighbouring trails and networks in this area.

We are also very proud to be the sponsor of the Go-By-Bike Event taking place September 28 – October 4.

 Q: I understand Belmont Residences East is also giving away an e-bike to the public.

Q: Living in Langford, it’s really apparent to me that condominiums are clearly in demand. What’s driving demand to this area?

A: “Condominium living is growing in Langford. It’s now the fastest growing city in BC and previously in all Canada ! Young families are attracted to the amenities they find here. Also, there is immigration from other cities in Canada–like Manitoba and Saskatchewan–who want to enjoy the lifestyle. I think this diverse community will only continue to grow [in the years ahead].”

Q: What would you say has been one of your most positive experiences at work during this pandemic?   

A: “It was so great to see people engaging with our team virtually, touring the units and later finding out how much they enjoyed their new homes and their new community. It was super rewarding to see that.”

 Q: In a way, it appears your customers adapted well to new ways of doing things, too.

 A: “That’s right. Our team pulled together to make things as safe and comfortable for them as possible. Belmont Residences East has 40 percent of their homes under $399,000 and 75 percent of their homes under $499,000. That helps, too!”
