The prestigious Metchosin International Summer School of the Arts [MISSA] is happening at the Pearson College campus from June 22 – July 5. It’s an occasion for like- spirited folks, who love art and the creative process, to gather together, to connect, make art and socialize.
“We have over 40 classes with over 400 people attending,” says Marna Lynn Smith, Executive Director. “We can only run 12 workshops at a time with 12 people per class. So, 480 is the maximum number of students we can accommodate every year. And they’re coveted spots!”
Yet, this year, it’s not just professional artists, teachers and serious adult students who are populating Pearson College campus. Happily, the organizers for this annual event are also opening the doors to the general public for two special evening events.
You are cordially invited to attend MISSA Talks, an inspirational evening with visiting MISSA instructors from the 2019 program. Discover what this international art school event is all about as instructors share their works, photos, anecdotes—along with some insights and tricks of the trade.
You will also have a chance to preview some of the art works created by the artists who attended MISSA this summer. Find out why so many artists return to MISSA year after year to immerse themselves in this beautiful, secluded seaside campus. Be inspired by the sheer beauty and diversity of the art works they have produced. It will be an up close and memorable experience for all ages.
