Come on out and support the hometown team as the Victoria HarbourCats take on the best in the West Coast League!
Notoriously know for their non-stop entertainment, do not miss the Victoria HarbourCats Baseball club and their schedule of promotions on tap for 2019!
The HarbourCats season is relatively short, but is very demanding and incredibly exciting!
The West Coast League (WCL) season sees the HarbourCats play 54 regular season and up to (hopefully!) 4-6 playoff games from early June to mid-August. The HarbourCats will also play 4-8 additional exhibition games in this time, meaning they will play a total of over 60 games in that 2.5 month perod, at least 27 of which will be on the road.
Should the team qualify for the WCL playoffs, the season could be extended into mid August.
Some HarbourCats stats:
- The Victoria HarbourCats have enjoyed tremendous on-field success and community support since their inception into the West Coast League in 2013.
- Victoria has led the WCL in attendance for four consecutive seasons (2014-17). In 2016, the HarbourCats ranked ninth in North America in attendance among summer-collegiate baseball teams.
- Victoria played host to the wildly successful 2013 WCL All-Star game, which set a league record for All-Star game attendance, with a crowd of 4,210. Through the team’s first three seasons, the HarbourCats have played for some of the largest crowds in league history, including the team’s ‘Canada Day Eve’ game on June 30, 2016, that saw the team clinch the first playoff berth in franchise history in front of a team and league record crowd of 5,133.
Most importantly to ownership it is the sound overall business structure of both the HarbourCats and the West Coast League, which provide the biggest reason for belief that the HarbourCats will bring elite level baseball and entertainment to British Columbia’s capital city for a very long time to come.
