Pacific Centre Family Services Association (PCFSA) is dedicated to delivering vital services to the West Shore communities of Colwood, Langford and Sooke. 2018 marks our 50th year of community service with educational, counselling and creative programming maintained in collaboration with partner agencies across the CRD.
Providing Services and Support When Most Needed
Our PCFSA programs provide counselling and support services to all persons within the community. Services are delivered based on individual need and circumstance. Our mission is to enhance the quality and dignity of life for individuals and families. By encouraging healthy patterns of living, the lives of youth and families are enriched as they acquire the skills they need to improve connections to family and build on community relationships.
We serve over 1,600 persons each year to provide vital services to address all mental health and wellness issues. High quality, trauma informed counselling focuses on building healthy family relationships and supporting individuals dealing with depression, family violence and trauma; specifically:
• persons who have experienced intimate partner abuse
• children & youth who have had challenging or abusive experiences
• parents seeking parenting information or support
• teens who are at risk for sexual exploitation or gang involvement
• parent-teen mediation and youth outreach
• persons dealing with substance abuse and addictions
• supporting seniors to live independently
• individuals of all ages and backgrounds who have experienced trauma or mental health issues
Delivering Timely Service in a Growing Community
With growing demand for our counselling services, we strive to maintain quality of service while reaching out to the community to assist us with building funding resources to reduce wait times and to continue to meet the needs of our children and families.
On average we have 250 individuals waiting for services across all programs—with an especially critical demand for youth services. Depending on the complexity of need, current wait times range from 2 weeks to 6 months.
Partnering with PCFSA for Healthy Living!
Large population inflows to our region has placed and will continue to place an ever-increasing demand for our services in the years ahead. There is a critical need for the trauma informed counselling we provide. Your generous contributions will ensure we can continue to enhance existing programming and continue building funding streams to maintain our educational and counselling services on the West Shore and across the CRD.
