Head to the beachfront every Friday and Saturday this summer for Colwood’s 2nd Annual Beach Food Days. Enjoy one of the most beautiful oceanfront beaches around with breathtaking views, ocean breezes, warm sand, good friends, live music, and hot eats from local food trucks.
It’s one of those rare inter-generational events that everyone can enjoy. Families love it, because adults can just sit and listen to live music and visit with friends in a space where kids don’t have to sit still. Seniors come for the fresh air, food, music and good-time camaraderie. It’s a great place for tweens and teens to hang out at the beach together, too.
Food trucks open for lunch at noon and serve food until 7pm. Food truck favourites include ‘L’Authentique Poutine and Burgers’, ‘Deadbeetz’, ‘Greek on the Street’,’ Molly’s Fish & Chips’, ‘Indecent Risotto’, or ‘Mai Mai’s Asian Fusion’. And what would dinner at the beach be without ice cream? ‘Road Treasure Treats’ is usually on hand to serve up dessert.
Most evenings, a live musician or band will set up on the rustic beach stage to perform with the ocean and mountains as a backdrop. Listen to incredible local talent play everything from Beatles, Eagles and Johnny Cash tributes to folk, blues, country, pop, rock and honky-tonk.
So, pull up a seat on a smooth driftwood log, dig your toes into warm sand, and enjoy an authentic West Coast style summer —at the beach!
